Description
Central Asia, Iran / Iraq, ca. 800 to 1100 CE. A fine pottery olpe or jug of medium-sized globular body with a substantive loop handle. Approximately 2/3 of the vessel is covered in white slip with attractive black, geometric decorations; the lower section redware. Size: 7-3/4"H x 7-3/4" at widest point.
Provenance: Ex-private southern California collection, acquired before 2000.
