The book ‘Postschließfach’ (= postbox), which is also the nickname of Baikonur, is a documentation of the Space Expedition Andora. The Space Expedition Andora was an art project of the Russian space program that commissioned five artists in 1992 to paint a Proton rocket that was then shot into space. The book ‘Postschließfach’ conveys exciting insights of the spaceport Baikonur at the time. The 34 black and white photographs that are pictured in the book, reinforce the special atmosphere of the Expedition of Andora and witnesses also prior to the artistic collaboration, as with the writer Chinghiz Aitmatov, who also had the chance to eternalize a poem on the Proton rocket.
The poem, the book and the photographs are in good condition with traces of use. The dimensions are max. 31 x 40.5 cm.
