The following treasures are from the living estate of Ailene & Buddy Ford; noted dealers and lifelong collectors of exceptional antique & vintage heirlooms. xxxxxxxxxxx. The AEAA is exceptionally proud to present this Rare & magnificent giant 1885 English Ironstone dry sink set, finished in a gorgeous floral & windmill flow blue transfer, from the highly respected John Heath Davis of the Trent Pottery. Our incredible matching set includes the large basin, massive water pitcher, drinking / toothbrush pitcher, & 3 piece strained shaving bowl. Our set is the Victor pattern, and the English RD #22036, positively dates this valuable group to 1885. The set measures (basin) 15 inches in Diameter, and the pitcher is 8.75 x 8 x 12.5 inches tall, all weighing 12# 8 oz. The basin has 2 old tight lines, and the strained has a rim chip; all other pieces are excellent xxxxxxxxxxx. The history of John Heath Davis began in the partnership of Livesley & Davis, at the Trent Pottery of Eastwood, Hanley, and Staffordshire from 1867 to 1871. Trent Pottery became the home of the Davis family from 1871-1875, under the name J.H. & J. Davis, and became the sole province of John Heath Davis from 1875-1891, known as simply J.H. Davis. A distinctive double circle, crown & J.H. Davis banner shield, was the primary mark, with pattern names often included. This classic earthenware manufacturer ca. 1880, employed 130 Men 40 Women 30 Children, in the Trent Pottery, (Canal Side), Eastwood, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, and Staffordshire, England.
