An early 20th century sapphire and diamond brooch. Of openwork design, the old-cut diamond quatrefoil, to the circular-shape sapphire sides and old-cut diamond border. Estimated total diamond weight 3 to 3.25cts, H-J colour, VS to SI clarity. Length 5.5cms. Weight 13.6gms.

Overall condition good. Surface scratches and minor discolouration in keeping with general wear and age. Some slightly heavier abrasions can be seen to some areas. Sapphires well matched. Sapphires medium dark blue, well saturated, with good to fair clarity and typical inclusions, some show straight colour zoning under magnification. Sapphires in good to fair condition with some abrasion and minor nibbles to the girdle and facet edges. Diamonds fairly well matched for colour and clarity. Diamonds bright and lively. Light and dark coloured inclusions can be seen with magnification to most diamonds, some diamond have no obvious inclusions under magnification. Diamonds in good condition with minor abrasions.
