Description
Georges Rouault (French, 1871-1958). A collection of two unframed figural color aquatints in the artist's traditionally Fauvist style comprising of "Two Clowns" depicting a pair of clowns at bust length set before a recessed archway, the larger figure at center with white collar and pointed hat, signed within plate lower left "G. Rouault"; and "Old King", with "Maeght Editeur Paris" embossed seal lower left, depicting a male figure at center at bust length in profile with a crown upon his head, bent arm, and hand grasping a flower stem, the figure in vibrantly colored costuming, unsigned. Sheet size "Two Clowns" approximately 24" x 17.5", "Old King" approximately 26" x 20".
