Description
United States, US Army, Springfield, ca. 1880. Large knife with wooden handle and original leather sheath. Wide blade allowed soldier to use for digging a quick trench when under attack. Marked "US Springfield" and 3148. Blade itself inscribed "Joe Woodridge." Sheath original to the knife and marked "C6 35." Size: Knife alone measures 13-1/2"L.
