Description
A very fine cylinder music box by Nicole Freres, Geneva, Switzerland, c.1860. Rosewood case, the lid with fruitwood inlay depicts musical instruments surrounded by a scroll motif, further decorated with double bands of string inlay. 13" cylinder which beautifully plays 8 operatic tunes by Bellini, Donizetti and Rossini among others. Interior label lists tunes and numbered 37397. Lock with key. The case measures 19-7/8" wide, 6-7/8 deep, 5.25" high.
