Description
A large Hellenistic terracotta woman, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, her body in a state of dynamic movement, perhaps dancing, her arms raised, head looking to right, slightly tilted as she is about to twirl, her dress flowing around her. An attractive piece with much presence. H: 7 4/5 in (19.9cm). Remnants of pigments and mineral deposits throughout. Ex estate of pioneer UCLA surgeon Dr. Elmer Belt.
