Description
Archaic Greece, ca. 700 to 600 BCE. The features of this bull head are clear and easy to see. The piece comes with a custom stand. As in many other cultures of a similar age, bulls were symbols of power and wealth with strong religious connections in Archaic Greece. A small statue like this would likely have graced the home of a non-elite citizen. Size: The bull head itself is 1 1/2" deep, 2 1/2" wide at the widest point, and 2 1/4" tall. With the custom stand it is 4" tall.
