Pre-Columbian Meso-American ceramic tripod blackware vase, having geometric banded panels, perhaps indicating origins in the Mitla-Oaxaca area of Southern Central Mexico, circa AD 600-1000, also depicting a long-tailed and long-necked four legged animal with a wide head, possibly a jaguar as its body shows round spots and its tail is banded; the vase apparently intact, 8"h. Provenance: Deaccessioned from The California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco, CA
