(1906 - 1982) Soviet leader who engineered the ouster of Khrushchev, chairman of the Presidium, and established the Brezhnev Doctrine entitling the Soviet Union to interfere in affairs of Warsaw Pact countries. Rare war-date D.S. as a Red Army political officer, 3pp. 4to., [n.p.], Jan. 4, 1943 and marked "SECRET". Brezhnev approves the promotion of Major Efim Potarikin to serve as the head of the 1st Guards army. Very good.
