Description
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND DECORATED STONEWARE COOLER, salt-glazed, "3" gallon capacity mark, cylindrical form with banded shoulder, squared rim, arched handles, and protruding bung hole. Brushed cobalt four-bloom double-stem floral decoration on front and two-bloom double-stem floral decoration on reverse, additional cobalt across shoulder band, and at handle terminals and bung hole. Possibly the pottery of Peter Herrmann (1825-1901). Circa 1860-1870. 14" H, 8 3/4" D rim.
