Description

An early twentieth century silver mounted table cigarette box of plain and rounded rectangular form, the slightly curved hinged lid with engine-turned decoration, engraved initials to the centre and opening to reveal a wood lined interior with a single dividing panel. Hallmarks very worn, but possibly Birmingham 1931. Measuring 7 1/4 inches (18.5 cm) by 5 1/4 inches (13.5 cm).

Condition

The box displays general surface scratches, marks, wear and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use. Several dints and bumps including some fairly large ones around the edge and corners of the lid. Mount is lifting slightly in places. Hinged lid appears in working order although the pin is sticking out on one side. Hallmarks are very worn and mostly illegible.
