Description
Bottle form, decorated by Josephine E. Zettel with yellow daffodils on a brown, green and rust ground, marks include impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1898, shape #744 C, process mark, signed on underside with incised artist's monogram "J.E.Z.", approximate height 7 3/8", the other bottle form decorated by Laura E. Lindeman with yellow daffodils on a brown, green and rust ground, impressed Rookwood flame logo indicating date 1900, shape #744 C, process mark, has wheel cut X indicating second quality, signed on underside with artist's monogram "L.E.S.", approximate height 7 7/8".
Condition
Vase by Zettel has a repair to collar and neck, scratches and crazing; vase by Lindeman is second quality and has a glaze pop measuring approx. 1/16" in diameter.
