Der Titi-See im Schwarzwald; The Old Town Hall in Freiburg. 1860s. 2 albumen prints with rounded corners. 12 x 16 cm and 15,8 x 12,1 cm. Each flush-mounted to original card (slight traces of use), with gilt lettering G. Th. Hase, Maler & Hofphotograph, Freiburg i. B. and ornamental border on the mounts as well as around inner edge of images.
Georg Theodor Hase participated in the International Photography Exhibition in Berlin in 1865 and showed thirty of his Schwarzwald images, which established him as an accomplished photographer. These are two very charming images of that series and prime examples of early German photography. Photos by Hase are very rare. - Some light white spots, especially in edges, one slightly faded and with retouched spots, otherwise in very good condition and Titi See view with violet-brown tone.
