Oil on canvas, signed LR, portrait of a female gypsy by listed artist Karl Kappes (1861-1943). Born in Zanesville, Ohio, as a young man he studied in Europe. In 1912, Kappes moved to Toledo where lived and painted for over 60 years until his death. He was a teacher and painter at Weller Pottery in the early 1900s. Reframed, 21" W x 25 1/4" H. Condition - good, reframed.
