First Sporting Events at Cleveland Municipal Stadium Wire Photos; lot of (2) wire photos that celebrate "Firsts" at Cleveland Municipal Stadium; includes a photo of Cleveland Municipal Stadium during the first game played there by the Cleveland Indians on July 31, 1932; the photo features 80,000+ in attendance as the Indians lost to the Athletics during the home opener; marked on the back "Cleveland Stadium A10048-L" in pencil and stamped "Ref Dept Oct 30, 1932 MAG"; also includes a photo of the first ever event at the Stadium on July 3, 1931; the Stadium was dedicated on July 1, 1931 and hosted a boxing match for the National Boxing Association World Heavyweight Champions, Max Schmeling and Young Stribling on the 3rd; photo is marked on the back "Lakefront" in pencil and is stamped "Reference Dept., July 9, 1931, N.E.A." with the original ACME typed caption stating that the photo is "where the World's Heavyweight Battle Will Be Fought June 3rd.
