The film was directed by Ridley Scott and starring Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm and Yaphet Kotto.
The painted poster artwork is a colourful and surrealistic composition, showing only a part of the final version of the poster which contains black surroundings and text. The painted version perfectly reveals the method of Helenyi: he caught the athmosphere of the movie, but not with depicting original characters of it, he created an own vision instead with the mixture of a spectacular classic painterly approach and the visual world of his contemporary popular culture. The amazing result can be seen in the painted artwork.
