Figurine 'Estrella', 2nd half of 20th century, (?) Paul Scheurich (1883 - 1945), Meissen porcelain, h.: 27.8 cm, 20.5 cm,small gouges on hand, the lack of a fragment of a finger, delicate scratches on the edge of the dress;'Estrella' comes from the series of five porcelain figurines 'Russian dancers' (project from 1912) by Paul Scheurich (1883 New York - 1945 Brandenburg). In the years 1910-1912 the Russian ballet of Sergei Diaghilev presented in Berlin "Carnival" with music by Robert Schumann. Fascinated by the presentation, Scheurich created the sculptural group of dancers. Ludmila Szolar danced Estrella in Berlin in 1910, in a beautiful Biedermeier costume.
