Description
Late 18th century, signed on the silvered compass rose, Cole Fecit, the telescope with cross-wires, bubble level and draw-tube focusing, the limb with vertical pointer and vernier to the fixed part circle graduated Links of Chain 0° -50° (x2) on one side, the other DEPRESSION / ELEVATION 0° -55° (x2), compass with cross bubble horizontal plate with vernier over silvered circle, tripod attachment and mahogany and brass tripod with four screw adjustment and legs in six sections. Instrument, height 11 inches. Provenance: Christies. South Kensington, London, September 29, 1988, Lot 211.
