1146. Irene Ryan “Granny Clampett” signature glasses screen-worn on The Beverly Hillbillies. (CBS, 1962-1971) A vintage pair of round-framed gold metal character eyeglasses worn by the inimitable “Granny Clampett”, as played by Irene Ryan, in the classic television sitcom The Beverly Hillbillies. The oval frames are stamped with the AO Eyewear brand maker’s mark. Frames measure 4.75 x 4.5 in. with arms extended. The temples of the frames are sleeved in a tan-colored plastic material and the nose pads are fashioned of a tan mother-of-pearl plastic. The bridge and eye wires feature fine Art Deco-style imprinted patterns. Lenses have been removed from frames. The frames remain in vintage, screen-used very good condition. This iconic signature piece of TV sitcom history comes from the collection of Kingsley Colton, longtime friend and agent of Ryan and Executive Director of the Irene Ryan Foundation.
