Edna Boies Hopkins (Michigan/Ohio/New York/Massachusetts/Paris, 1872-1937)12" high x 10.5" wide wood block print, titled "Trumpet Vine." Pencil signed lower left "Edna Boies Hopkins," and pencil numbered 5. Born in Michigan, Hopkins attended the Art Academy of Cincinnati 1895 to 1898. While there she met James Roy Hopkins whom she later married. She also took classes with Arthur Wesley Dow. She moved to Provincetown, Massachusetts and became a founding member of the Provincetown Printers. Some of her strongest work was produced in the late teens in the Cumberland Falls region of Kentucky. Her work is included in most important collections of American prints.
Condition
Very light toning on outside margin; loose and not laid down, in untouched condition in original frame, good condition.
