Description
Ming Dynasty (1368–1644). A creamy-white crackled jade figure of a woman holding a paddle and steering a water raft with waves curling up from the bottom giving a sense of motion and travel, the wave crests sloshing up on both sides of the boat and a swirl of water decorating the bottom, the aft of the boat carries a large floral arrangement of lingzhi mushrooms displayed in a vase typical of the Ming period, a stem of lingzhi on the back is accented by black jade.
