China, Neolithic Period, ca. 3rd - 2nd Millennium BCE. An interested terracotta jar from the Neolithic period. Unslipped red terracotta is adorned with a traditional cross-hatching pattern around the center of vessel. Narrow pedestal supports saucer-like body with flared rim. 4-1/8"H.
