Description
Ikeda Lowe was born in Miyasaka, Japan, and raised in Chappaqua and Manhattan, New York. She was actively engaged in the arts in both Ney York City and Paris. Her paintings were exhibited twice at the National Arts Club in Gramercy Park, New York, and many of her paintings were hung on both the set and in the offices of NBC's "The Crosby Show". Ikeda Lowe's paintings are inspired by memories of cityscapes and landscapes. Ikeda uses color, often inspired by the changing seasons, to evoke a sense of intensity or tranquility. Multiple layers-made possible by mixing pigment with mediums in order to glaze and manipulate colors-manifest the ephemeral, and vacillating, nature of recollection.
