(1) Attributed to: Vauquelin, Jean Guillaume (b. 1748 - d. 1823. French). 32" x 40". Oil on canvas (backed on board). Marked with plaque: R. Vauquelin. Stretched and cleaned with minor restoration. Subject: Man at desk with quill pen in hand. Set in gilt gesso on wood ogee frame. Dated (1805) and signature appear on the arm of the chair.
