The first consists of nine albumen prints laid side by side onto the card leaves of an album in concertina form with full green morocco covers, titled and bordered in gilt. (18cm x 183.5cm) the second (19cm x 132.5cm) has 6 albumen prints and is similarly bound. The first view taken, taken from the Galata tower gives an amazing 360 degree panorama of the city from Galata to the Princes' Islands with the Bosphorus and the Sea of Marmara. The second view is taken from the Beyazit tower which stands in the courtyard of the University of Istanbul. Some minor chipping to the leading edges of a few sheets, but the contents and the bindings generally in good condition. (2).
