A mid-Victorian silver christening mug, the plain cylindrical form with slightly flared rim, beaded border detail and engraved monogram, in fitted leather box. Hallmarked Elizabeth Ivory, London 1860. Height to handle 10.5cm, weight 5.8ozt (180.8g).

• Appears with some fairly heavy tarnish all over and in need of a clean.
• Displaying some general surface wear, marks and scratches, and a few minor dints.
• Some loss of definition to the beading.
• Seam line visible to the top of the handle.
• Hallmarks located to base; punches are blackened with old polish residues but hallmarks all clear and legible.
• Case with some general expected surface wear; with minor losses and scuffs to the exterior; velvet lining to interior is torn and needs to be re-applied.
