Description
A George IV silver christening mug, of slightly tapering circular form with reeded and floral engraved bands, and monogrammed central panel. Hallmarked John, Henry & Charles Lias, London 1828. Height 8.2cm, weight 4.71ozt (146.4g).
Condition Report:
- Displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with the age and use.
- Some minor dints and nicks; with a larger, more notable bash on one side below the rim, between the reeded and foliate bands.
- Main rim is a little misshapen.
- Some slight knocks and bashes around the base rim.
- Slight impressions from the joins of the handle seen to the interior of the mug, more so the lower join.
- Hallmarks are rubbed in parts but mostly still legible.
- Condition reports are offered as a guide only and we highly recommend inspecting any lot to satisfy yourself as to its condition.
