A slender 39.52% gold ring of wearable form with a thin, bifurcated shank and an ovoid bezel set with an onyx cameo boasting a vermilion-hued image of the satyr Marsyas, his arms tied to a tree awaiting being skinned alive; losing in a musical contest to an Olympian god like Apollo has its downsides. A faded signature in Greek letters is inscribed on one side.
