Western Europe, England, Neoclassical, ca. 19th century CE. A pretty jasperware cameo and gold ring of in the classic "Wedgwood blue" color with a seminude Venus and Cupid riding a dolphin. The bezel and band are a pretty rose-gold hue made from 32% gold (equivalent to 7K+) and copper; the ring is wearable! Jasperware or jasper ware is a style of stoneware pottery created by Josiah Wedgewood in the late 18th century. The name stems from the semi-precious stone jasper in reference to the colors these pieces were stained and to encourage sales. Jasperware was widely popular and replicated by other artisans to create cameos. Size of bezel face: 0.88" L x 0.7" W (2.2 cm x 1.8 cm); band: 0.69" Diameter (1.8 cm); US ring size: 7.5; gold quality: 32.7% (equivalent to 7K+); weight: 5 grams

Condition
Antique, pre-owned condition. Chip to blue jasperware and some rubbing to raised areas on cameo. Some minor wear to band, but otherwise intact. Wearable!
