Description
A beautiful representation of Marquesan warfare and artistry, this "U'U" Ceremonial war club was carved by the team at Oceanic Arts, "The Godfathers of Tiki." Carved from a single piece of "toa", or ironwood as it's commonly known, it features a large face on both sides of the club, with intricately carved Polynesian motifs throughout. These clubs were both important in warfare and for use as a status symbol in Marquesan culture, the clubs are fitted to their specific owner. The piece up for auction was originally sold in a large Oceanic Arts auction, and is now available to you for bidding. Measures 6 1/2" W x 31 3/4" H x 3 5/8" D. Weighs 6 lbs.
