Pre-Columbian, North Coast of Peru, Moche, ca. 400 to 800 CE. A sizable, hand-built pottery vessel depicting a seated male figure, perhaps a lord or dignitary, who wears a lengthy tunic, sizable jewelry, and a crown bearing the face and paws of a jaguar. Size: 6" L x 6.6" W x 10.8" H (15.2 cm x 16.8 cm x 27.4 cm)

Condition
Professional repair and restoration to lower body, with resurfacing and overpainting along new material and break lines. Abrasions and fading to pigment, with small perforation near knees, and chips around rim, otherwise in nice condition. Good figural form overall.
