Description
Renamed Boer War Medal Pair Royal Fusiliers, consisting of Queens South Africa medal with three clasps, Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal, engraved â8448 PTE F TONE 2ND BATT ROYAL FUSILIERSâ; Kings South Africa medal with South Africa 1901 and 1902 clasps, renamed in engraved style to the same recipient as the first. 8448 Private W Tone appears on the medal roll of the 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers and is entitled to the Queens South Africa medal and Kings South Africa medals with the clasps on these medals (there is no one with the initial F on the rolls). He was injured on 5th May 1902 when No.15 Armoured Train came of the rails at Daspoort resulting in 10 soldiers being killed and 20 injured.
