A Bejeweled Russian Art Nouveau Silver and Gold Mounted Cigarette Case
early 20th century, assayer's mark of Ivan Sergeyevich Lebedkin of Moscow (1898-1908), first kokoshnik 84 zolotniki (.875 silver), unidentified Cyrillic maker's mark, the hinged bifold case with red cabochon thumbpiece, obverse decorated with repousse and chased visage of a beautiful woman, her flowing hair festooned in flowers accented in likely red ruby and diamond centers, upper case in conforming gold mounts (testing 14K) to the obverse and reverse with presentation engraving from 'I. Mamina' to 'D.I. Genender' along with dates of March 8, April 4, and April 29, 1919, during the Russian Civil War and Allied intervention in the Russian Civil War.
