Overall length: 39”. Blade length: 28”. The blade has a full-length double hi with an irregular hamon and a silvered copper habaki. Classic gilded brass 4-cherry blossom tsuba with two seppa above and below. The nakago has four separate mekugi-ana, indicating the use of an early ancestral blade. There is no visible signature on the nakago. The tsuka has matching kabuto-gane and ferrule with complete same; however, the tsuka-ito is all but gone. Consequently, there are no menuki present. Tosho is brown and blue, indicating a company grade officer’s sword. Saya is black lacquered wood with a heavy leather cover. CONDITION: blade is out of polish with some minor discoloration and roughness to the ha near the tip. Tsuka is solid but missing the tsuka-ito and menuki. Saya shows moderate wear.
