The paper generally is rather creased, which is slightly more pronounced on the right-hand side, but also at the centre of the upper edge. This is probably due either to some original damp which affected the painting, or perhaps due to the glue used to paste the painting down on to the card. There are a few small stains, particularly at upper left. The painting has been irregularly trimmed, and there are small losses to the edges at upper left, and at the lower left and lower right corners.
