Red sequin and rhinestone-studded tan body suit worn by Henning during the Vanishing Elephant Illusion in 1976 Doug Henning’s World of Magic. Four walls are put up to encase the elephant and are dropped moments later to reveal the elephant has vanished. Henning wore this costume while riding the elephant for its disappearance at the show’s beginning and for its return at the show’s conclusion. Interior stamped “bill hargate”; no manufacturer’s label present. Length: 27”; waist: 12”; shoulders 16”. Good/fair; some fraying; stains from wear. Acquired by the consignor from the Henning family.
