Pre-Columbian, Northern Mexico, Chihuahua region, Casas Grandes culture, ca. 1100 to 1450 CE. An enormous grayware pottery olla, of broad form bearing smooth, stone-burnished surfaces, with a bulging midsection and flared rim above a stable base. Size: 10.9" Diameter x 8.75" H (27.7 cm x 22.2 cm)
Provenance: private Reinsmoen collection, Clear Lake, Iowa, USA, acquired through descent from Robert Anderson, acquired prior to 2000
