Description

A Matching Pair of Jaru 135-74 Chalkware Lion bookends, Mid-Century era - Helvetiorum Fidelac Virtue - measuring 7.75" long x 5.5" in height, 3" deep, good shape. These bookends are replica's of the Swiss Monument known as The Lion Monument of Lucerne, which was carved to commemorate the Swiss Guard soldiers who died trying to protect Louis XVI in Tuileries Palace from a mob during the French Revolution. Vivid color, very historical.
