Description
Lilor gauged, 19th century, small portable steam engine with dual fly wheels, centrifugal governor, tall fold down copper topped smoke stack and single piston drive crank shaft with tangentially spoked wire and metal wheels, made using steel, copper and brass and on the water fill tank riser there is a brass plaque marked 'Ces Gaulon 1886 A Bourges cher', on the front there is a plaque that has a large engraved 'G' surrounding a 'B' which is decorated around and through with floral designs; piston, crank shaft and governor move smoothly by hand operation decorated with red and black paint or possibly Japanning with yellow and black ruled rectangle designs painted on both sides with some of the original green paint seen on the fly wheels and on the steam distribution hardware mount with brass banding on the front and rear with a steerable axle that has a metal yoke attached and comes with the original coal grill that sits inside the latchable fire door.

Condition
Paint loss from use, but the spring belt is loose and does not provide enough adhesion to facilitate spinning the balls, and the metal tube body has some separation on the underbelly.
