W.T. Avery Ltd, Makers Birmingham (England), 19th century brass 10 pound class C scale mounted on a thick mahogany base which has a wide tapered edge with a mahogany veneered top and comes with 9 brass English weights, one 8 ounce, three 2 pound, three 4 pound, and one 7 pound; class C marked on the fulcrum and W.T. Avery stamped twice on each side of the beam.

Some veneer has been worn through to the base material from use with some other age imperfections. Missing the connector hook that binds the 'items to be weighted' pan and the articulated brass arm to the main beam end. The pointer has been bent some.
