A John Cashmore 18ct yellow gold, half quarter repeater keyless lever half hunter pocket watch, C1893.
Dial: The white enamel Roman numeral dial with subsidiary seconds dial outer minute track signed John Cashmore London. The original blued steel double spade hands with original blued steel seconds hand.
Case: The heavy 18ct yellow gold half hunter case with blue inlaid enamel Roman numerals to front cover. The back cover has a crest of The Dacre Rams head in the cartouche. The inner cover has an inscription 20th February 1894. The cases are all English hallmarked for 1893.
Movement: The three quarter plate movement fully jewelled with screwed in chatons compensation balance keyless lever escapement and half quarter repeating function. The movement signed John Cashmore Finsbury London.
John Cashmore was born in 1821. The watchmaker is listed as working from 1 North Buildings, South Place, Finsbury, London from c1857,although not especially innovative, Cashmores quality was consistently good and he achieved a reputation for excellence.
