Description
A late 18th century Rococo revival three-panel standing picture frame or a table screen. Presumably of French or Austrian origin. Gilt-silver frame with pierced Rococo ornamental decor. Each panel is garnished with miniature paintings on enamel representing multi-figure mythological scenes. The verso of each panel features an oval picture hole with a hinged glass lid.
H: 5 13/16 in., (14.8 cm.)
Condition
Good overall. Glass doors missing from 2/3 panels. Some wear to surface of both enamel and gilding. Some loss to enamel of rear left panel. Hinges articulate well.
