RIAA Platinum Album Award for Deana Carter album Did I Shave My Legs For This? Released on Sept. 3, 1996 and by Nov. 6, 1996 was certified Platinum by the RIAA. 

The album produced several singles including #1 Billboard Top Country Singles & Tracks entries "Strawberry Wine", "We Danced Anyway", and "How Do I Get There". "Count Me In" was also released as a single. The album went to #21 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and #14 on the Top 200 Albums chart. By 2000 the album had been certified 5x Multi-Platinum.

Detailed Item Description: This RIAA Platinum award was made in 1996/97 making it about 24-25 years old. The award is presented to Bill Kennedy who was then VP of Sales at Capitol Records Nashville.

This RIAA "R hologram" award is in VG to Excellent condition complete with original backing paper and Ill Eagle Enterprises manufacturer's sticker.

Notes on the condition of all vintage RIAA awards like this one: Please do not buy this item if you want a brand new piece of memorabilia. These are historical artifacts from the year they were produced. As a result they may show signs of wear. Frankly, if you see a 20 to 50-year-old award purported to be in 100% perfect condition, it might be too good to be true. After all, an antique should have "good' wear. If not, you might want to question the piece.

As to where they came from, they could have been displayed in record label offices, recording studios, artist manager's offices, radio stations, private collector's homes and yes, of course, possibly the artist's or songwriter's home.
