Description
AN EARLY GEORGE III SILVER KETTLE, STAND AND BURNER

by Alexander Johnston, London 1760, inverted pear-shaped, the scroll handle terminating at either end in a leaf scroll, engraved with a coat-of-arms, with a part-fluted leaf-capped spout and artichoke finial to the hinged cover, the openwork stand with three leaf and scroll supports, the centrally fixed spirit lamp with a detachable top. 34cm high overall, 65 troy ounces

The maker's mark is slightly rubbed, but the other marks are clear. There are four small dints from where the handle has swung down. There is some age-related surface wear, but it is generally in good condition.
