A FINE EARLY VICTORIAN SILVER-GILT VINAIGRETTE
by Nathaniel Mills, Birmingham 1839, rectangular, with applied foliate borders, the hinged cover and base engine-turned, the cover centred by a rectangular plaque inscribed To Mrs McLaren from a few of her pupils, the interior with a pierced and scrolling foliate engraved grille. 4.6cm long, 1.2 troy ounces
The marks are clear. The hinges are in good condition, and both the cover and the grille close well. The gilding is in excellent order, as is the vinaigrette generally.
