Secretary Albright was a life-long supporter of women’s rights and supporting women, not only in politics, but in many fields, including literature: “…I do want to explain why I so firmly believe that, even today, women have an obligation to help one another. In a society where women often feel pressured to tear one another down, our saving grace lies in our willingness to lift one another up” (New York Times, 12 February 2016). One book from this lot, Ethan Frome, bears annotations and underlining presumed to be Secretary Albright’s, including a reference to Denver’s Kent School for Girls, her alma mater.
