A Continental Small-Sword With Parcel-Gilt Silver Hilt Mid-18th Century, Dutch Import Marks With sharply tapering blade (some old light pitting) of hollow triangular section, the forte on both sides etched and regilt against a reblued ground with the profile bust of a Turk in an oval between panels of strapwork, a design of foliage above, hilt cast, pierced and chased with flowering foliage between ribboned borders, comprising double shell-guard, quillon block, arms, lobed rear quillon, knuckle-guard, globular pommel with button, and grip formed in imitation of gilt ribbon and twisted silver wire between Turk's heads (2) 74.4 cm. blade Footnotes: Provenance Frederick Muller & Cie, Amsterdam, Armes Et Armures, Collections Du Dr. L......
