A Rare English Silver-Hilted Small-Sword Late 17th Century, Indistinct Maker's Mark ?W With slender tapering fullered blade (some scattered old pitting) ridged along the back to the double-edged point, hilt cast and chased with fruit between borders of petals on the side-loop, knuckle-guard and globular pommel, the first (rear quillon replaced) framing a plate pierced and engraved with flowering foliage, the second with monster-head hooked into the pommel, the last with flattened button, the border engraved surfaces between decorated with panels of foliage, and grip bound with twist and plain silver wire between Turks' heads 70.5 cm. blade This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: * * VAT on imported items at a preferential rate of 5% on Hammer Price and the prevailing rate on Buyer's Premium.
